The Tummy Tuck

Abdominoplasty, also known as a "tummy tuck," is a major cosmetic surgical procedure that removes excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen, tightening the muscles of the abdominal wall.

The best candidates for Abdominoplasty are men or women who are in good physical and emotional health, who lead active lifestyles but are bothered by abdominal fat that does not respond well to diet and exercise.

Two types of Abdominoplasty

1. Mini- Abdominoplasty
The best candidates for the mini-abdominoplasty have mild to moderate amounts of abdominal skin excess, minimal or no stretch marks, and /or minimal lower abdominal protuberance. The mini-abdominoplasty removes three to four inches of skin and fat from the lower abdomen, tightening the lower abdominal muscles. Liposuction is combined with the mini-abdominoplasty for even greater results. Recovery time is usually significantly shorter than for full Abdominoplasty.

2. Full Abdominoplasty
Full abdominoplasty uses a horizontal "bikini line" incision across the lower abdomen to remove or tighten stretched, damaged skin and excess fatty tissue of the entire abdomen. Liposuction is sometimes combined with the full abdominoplasty for a natural result. Patients wear an abdominal binder for approximately four weeks, and avoid strenuous activity for six weeks, but are often able to return to work after just one week.

At Dr. Jeffrey Hartog’s Bougainvillea Clinique in Orlando, Florida, the tummy tuck is a popular procedure for creating a more taut and youthful figure. To find out if abdominoplasty is an option for you, please contact us to schedule your consultation.

SmartLipo MPX

SmartLipo MPX is the newest advancement in laser assisted liposculpture. SmartLipo MPX is an FDA-approved, two-laser system that liquefies stubborn fat, tightening skin for beautiful, natural results.

Not all cosmetic surgeons are properly trained to perform SmartLipo. Dr. Jeffrey Hartog at the Bougainvillea Clinique in Orlando, Florida has this highly specific training, and has been helping male and female patients to remove stubborn fat deposits more uniformly. As compared with traditional liposuction, SmartLipo MPX offers fewer skin irregularities and less bleeding and bruising.

Best of all, SmartLipo MPX targets larger surface areas, such as thighs, abdomen, hips and arms, for more dramatic fat reduction and skin tightening. It reduces treatment time, and is less invasive, safer and more effective than traditional liposuction. No general anesthesia is needed. During both the procedure and the recovery, you will feel little to no discomfort.

Following our Body Contouring Protocol, Dr. Hartog can combine SmartLipo MPX with VASER Liposelection for incredible results, including highly effective skin tightening and contouring.

If stubborn fat is getting in the way of your otherwise healthy diet and exercise routine, consider SmartLipo MPX. Please contact Dr. Jeffrey Hartog in Orlando, Florida to schedule your consultation.

Am I A Good Candidate for Liposuction?

Liposuction is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures, according to The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Advancements in technique and types of liposuction continue to be refined, dramatically reducing invasiveness, decreasing recovery time and enhancing results.

Despite its popularity, however, liposuction is not right for everyone. The best candidates for liposuction:
  • Are in good physical and mental health
  • Eat a healthy diet
  • Exercise regularly
  • Maintain normal weight (within 25 lbs.)
  • Do not smoke

Other issues that may preclude an individual from choosing liposuction include diabetes, heart disease, seizures, and other chronic conditions that may make it too risky for the individual to choose this elective surgery.

At The Bougainvillea Clinique in Orlando, Florida, Dr. Jeffrey Hartog regularly consults with men and women seeking information about traditional liposuction or one of the more advanced methods, such as SmartLipo. Alone or combined with other cosmetic procedures, such as breast augmentation, Botox® or the facelift, patients are experiencing dramatic results and enjoying a more youthful appearance.

Are you interested in finding out more about what traditional liposuction and SmartLipo can do to transform your appearance? Please contact Dr. Hartog in Orlando, Florida to schedule your private consultation.

Liposuction

Liposuction is a cosmetic surgery technique using a small stainless steel tube called a cannula, connected to a suction pump. Dr. Hartog inserts it into the fat through very tiny incisions. The cannula creates minute tunnels through the fatty layers, removing the fat with suction for an improved body shape.

Each of us has a certain number of fat cells, the approximate number being determined during early life. They serve good purposes such as padding and insulation, but when we become overweight, they become larger beneath the skin where we don’t want them. Common areas for excess fat are the abdomen, hips, thighs and upper arms. The number of fat cells you have does not change, regardless of weight gain or loss. What changes is the amount of fat within each cell. That’s why, after you’ve lost weight, you may still have some stubborn areas of fat you can’t get rid of.

Liposuction can remove stubborn fat deposits that are resistant to diet and exercise or lingering after pregnancy. In addition to traditional liposuction, a new method is now available called SmartLipo. SmartLipo offers greater safety and effectiveness for individuals who want liposuction but don’t want the invasiveness, down time and side effects of traditional liposuction. SmartLipo is quickly becoming the liposuction method of choice for many men and women interested in losing stubborn fat.

In Orlando, Florida, Dr. Jeffrey Hartog offers liposuction and other cosmetic procedures at The Bougainvillea Clinique. If you’ve been thinking about making a few changes to enhance your appearance and your self-esteem, please contact Dr. Hartog to schedule a free consultation.

Liposuction With Emphasis on SmartLipo

You’re probably familiar with the popular cosmetic procedure called liposuction, but have you heard yet about SmartLipo? SmartLipo is a revolutionary advancement in fat removal often called laser liposuction, or laser-assisted liposuction. SmartLipo uses laser energy to liquefy stubborn fat deposits, making them easy to remove, and creating a more precise body contour than traditional liposuction.

SmartLipo offers a number of welcome advantages:
  • A quicker and less invasive procedure
  • Greater safety than traditional liposuction
  • A shorter recovery time
  • A more sculpted result
  • Less swelling and bruising
  • Greater skin tightening

Dr. Jeffrey Hartog of The Bougainvillea Clinique in Orlando, Florida uses SmartLipo to target larger surface areas of the abdomen, face and neck, arms and thighs. As indicated, Dr. Hartog sometimes combines this procedure with endermologie to improve the appearance of cellulite and enhance skin tone for a dramatically enhanced appearance.

Wondering which type of liposuction is best for you? The best way to find out is to schedule a no-cost consultation with Dr. Hartog in Orlando, Florida, where you’ll receive a friendly welcome from his dedicated staff and a thorough explanation of all your liposuction options. Is Breast Augmentation Right for Me?

If you are unhappy with the size, shape and appearance of your breasts, you may be a good candidate for breast augmentation. Reasons for seeking breast augmentation are varied and include:
  • Loss of breast firmness over time
  • Changes to breast size or shape due to weight loss, pregnancy or aging
  • Asymmetrical breasts
  • Sagging, drooping breasts
  • A desire to more closely match today’s idea of a sexy, beautiful woman
  • A desire to fit better into today’s fashions

Breasts are comprised largely of fatty tissue, with no muscle tone, so changes to the breasts can occur fairly easily over time. No exercises currently exist to ‘fix’ breast tissue once youthful firmness is lost. That makes breast augmentation an excellent option for many women.

Breast Enlargement can provide you with larger, rounder, fuller breasts. For women with full breasts that are beginning to sag from gravity, a breast Lift can make them tighter and more attractive. For breasts that are too large, breast reduction offers aesthetic and health benefits, and the procedure may be covered by insurance.

What is your first step? Choose a board-certified plastic surgeon like Dr. Jeffrey Hartog of The Bougainvillea Clinique in Orlando, Florida. Simply contact Dr. Hartog to schedule your free consultation, and engage in a frank discussion of your needs, goals and expectations to determine the breast augmentation option that is best for you.
